The SIG advocates the development of teaching aids for the promotion of Judaism. Furthermore it supports the communities with tools that allow for a more professional approach to formal religious instruction. This year the SIG has purchased the 72-part education tool package JELED - Jewish European Learning Experience Dot from Holland. It deals with the Jewish holidays and basic Jewish concepts for the primary school level.
With its own Leadership & Dialog project, the Project LIKRAT, the SIG provides active young people with an opportunity to deal with Jewish topics and to train them for leadership functions. In the dialog part of the project young Jewish people are taught to encounter topics concerning Judaism/Israel by way of peer education in the class environment at school.
The SIG manages an up-to-date online list of educational events that are offered by Jewish communities and organizations, universities, adult education centers, and church organizations in the German speaking parts of Switzerland. Their topics deal with Jewish philosophy, history and religion. This list should make it easier to find additional educational opportunities and it documents the variety of the topics dealt with.
